belt squeal, cold weather

hi,

other than belt dressing, what can be done to quiet squealing belt?

Tighten it. It's also possible that the belt is glazed, If so, replacement
is usually needed. If that is not possible, it may be possible to break the
glaze with some sort of abrasive. (Last resort!)
