Hi all!

I've recently got me a mk2 (yipee!!) and was just wondering, what's the best
way to wash it without harming the color in the long run? Is water under
(high) pressure better than flowing water & sponge? I've heard to stay away
from brushes but don't know how to best treat my new baby :-) Any
reccommendations?

Also, anything special for the top? I've been told to not use anything but
water.

thanks for the tips

You'll find miata.net an awesome resource. It's impossible to type in here
much info but in general, lots of water, little soap (car washing soap is
probably more gentle on the wax finish than detergent) and soft / clean
sponge. Same info on soft top.

Enjoy!

Have a look at www.autopia.org

Covers it all, and then some.

Short answer; I like to use a pressure washer first to remove grit and
surface dirt and to clean the wheels and wheel wells.  Then a natural
sponge in soapy water (car wash detergent) and then rinsed again with
the power washer.  Then, if your car is well waxed, you can use an old
detailers trick of holding the hose parallel to the surface and sluice
95% of the water off the car where drying will take minimal time and no
water spots.
