Curious about my valve cover

I bought a 2002 Miata a few months back and have been slowly learning the
finer arts of being an owner.  When changing the oil today, I noticed the
valve cover has 1.6 DOHC on it.  I thought 2002's were 1.8L.  What is the
deal?

What Country do you live in ?  In the USA, they will be 1.8 L. Other
places in the world that is not true.

1.8 l. are the only engine in Canada as well.

It was 1.6 valves.  A normal size and a small one.

Is that like the average family having 2.3 children?

Is it polished?  Some people exchange them for a polished one.
Though exchanging with a 1.6 seems stupid.

Are there specifications in your owner manual?

I'm ashamed to admit this, but I misread the cover...16 valve, not 1.6 DOHC.
Sorry.

I won't tell anyone if you send me a bunch of money!  Honest, it'll
just be our secret.
