Hello friends at the Miata newsgroup,

I'm looking for a do-it-yourself shift improver kit for my 99 Miata.  Does
anyone know where I can get one, if it exists?

Thanks,
Craig

Define "improve." There are kits to shorten the throw, but they make
shifting stiffer, and not everyone considers that a net improvement. A
Voodoo shift knob offers about half the travel-reduction effect, for a
lot less money; it also feels reeeeally good in your hand. Using Redline
MTL as the transmission lube delivers the most improvement for many
owners. Cheap, and easy to install, too.

If you have a 6-speed, you might swap in a 5-speed instead. Most folks
feel they shift a lot more smoothly.
