Just purchased a 91 Miata. There are a couple of unknown wires hanging
around. One is a coax coming from the drivers side pillar behind the visor.
The other is a multi-conductor cable with a female pin jack similar to a
printer cable.

That sounds like a good guess, possibly a radar detector I guess also.

Have fun with the new ride, if you haven't dug into miata.net, get in there!
You'll enjoy it. There's alot of help / advice here if you need it. This is
as 'focused' a newsgroup I've experienced.
