With my '91B shut off, when I wobble the steering wheel quickly left/right a
few inches, there's a click/clunk from the front. Sounds like it's on the
passenger side, but I'm not sure. I held each joint while someone moved the
wheel and couldn't feel any play. In the old days, you could just tighten a
rack-adjusting screw on the steering box. Does this sound like a steering
box issue? I'm at 61k miles.

Thanks!

It's a tiny amount of play in the rack. All Miatas with power steering
likely develop this eventually. There is an adjustment, but it's not
especially easy and isn't worth the trouble. You'll soon learn to ignore
this harmless noise (or to stop wobbling the wheel quickly with the
engine off).

Gawd, I'm starting to sound like my pal Leon...  :-)
