Hello
Someone a while back posted an article on how to convert a Miata  to a
regular battery.  Of course now that I want to do it I can't find it.
Could someone repost it if they still have it.

thanks

Converting to a "regular" wet cell lead acid battery is not a good idea,
since the battery is in the trunk. Glass mat batteries with correctly placed
vent connections are available--WESTCO battery makes a commonly used
replacement, as do others.

A conventional wet cell battery would need to be placed in a vented case,
and the vents connected to the Miata's vent tubes.

Battery acid and fumes do nasty things to trunk contents, and eat holes in
the car body.

I agree with Chuck's point about avoiding regular wet cell
batteries if possible.  Also, note the same battery sold
by WestCo is also available at AutoZone as the DuraLast
    8AMU1R.
