Flaking paint on my '99

I just bought a used '99. The green metallic paint is flaking on the leading
edge of the hood, under the insignia on the trunk lid, and under the lip of
the trunk lid. Has anyone else had this problem with this model year or this
paint color?

The usual cause is a repaint. From the factory, it would mean that the
paint did not adhere properly, or the insignia is loose. Miata paint is also
known to chip easily.
