You betcha!
Woke up yesterday morning and noticed a really nice looking
96 (?) red Miata in the parking lot. Looked as if somone had
treated it like baby and the suns reflection off the paint
job almost blinded me. Walked over to take a peek inside and
noticed a large pair of stereo speakers mounted behind the
seats. Hmmm...says I, how can the guy put the top down with
those speakers there? Obviously he can't. A close
examination of the top revealed that someone had cut a large
hole between the first two ribs (over the seats) and had
installed some sort of flexible plastic in the hole. A
sun/moon roof on a Miata! Who'd a thunk of such a thing? I
left a note on his windshield and hope to talk to him (her)
when they return. As they say "only in Costa Rica".

PS... I took a couple pictures.

Perhaps you could send them to miata.net?

Not necessarily. There is actually an outfit that sells sunroofs
for Miatas. To be installed in the hardtop, however, not the
softtop.
