What is the best strategy to get the best selling price for a hardtop?
It seems like if I say im asking XXX for the car and YYY for hardtop
the buyer will just say ill give you XXX for both. Has anyone had any
luck selling the hardtop by itself? Im in CT by the way. Thanks

I would expect you to get more by selling separately - it always works
like this on *bay, anyway.

You could sell the car with its soft top, agree a price, then wheel out
the hardtop and ask if they want it for an extra $1000.

when we were looking for a hardtop several months ago, we discovered that
they were scarce and expensive. so much so that we abandoned our effort.
suggest you research that point and price it or them accordingly. art '91

I would say DEFINITELY sell it separately.

When I was looking for a car, I would not have paid a penney more for it if
it had a hard top, since I don't care for them.  BUT, if it had one on it,
and they wanted to remove it unless I paid more, I probably would have felt
"robbed"

you can get an easy $800.00 for it if it's in good shape, and more if you
hold out a bit.
