The rims on my 2002 Protege are chipping for the second time. They have been
repainted once already by the dealer under warranty. Has anyone else had
similar problems with their alloy rims?

Its not that uncommon. If you left the Aluminum rims on all winter, and
depending on where you live, they don't stand up well. If you have had them
replaced or refinished once already you may not have recourse through
warranty . Check with your dealer to be sure.
