But you do have EPC, but which part are you after:

The part is not inside the transmission.
It's connected to it by wires, but it is under the hood.
I have one module but unfortunately it's not the right one.

This does show the equipment I need:

Now, what ident codes are before 30.6.1999?
This is important bucause ahter 6/1999 there is a different differential
and with it there is a different transmission control module.
I'm pretty sure, I can manage this out now.

So you are after part number 100 in the figure? If you post your VIN we can
look from EPC which spare part number is for your car.

Thanks, but that is exactly where the problem lies. I only have some
parts of the car. I have transmission, differential etc but not any part
with VIN code. With VIN this would be far too easy ;-)
The parts are from E280T with model number 210.263. So, I do not know
the exact vehicle identification code to find out which control box to
look after.
Differential gear ratio is 1:3,27 and it is only found in E280 Touring
made before 6/99.

I'm confused, I thought you were searching something for your car, not some
car to the parts that you have. From your car's VIN one could see the exact
part numbers that fit to your car. Or was it that you have some parts but
the parts have no identification info and could fit your car, but you cannot
be sure?

Well, this is quite confusing.
I have some parts in my car from an other. I do not know VIN for the
other and VIN of my car does not help while differential and
transmission are from some other car.
That's why I'm looking for a control module different than the on, there
is in my car right now.

Actually, can you find an alternative for part 0195457832?

Can you tell what car is 0155451032 for?

This part 0195457832 seems to go for several cars. On W210 it appears for
210053 E280 and 210055 E320 BIS 05.99.
On the E280 019 545 78 32 replaces 015 545 10 32 as nick above mentioned.
0195457832 seems also intended for 140 (032 & 033) and 129 (058, 063))
bodies in Europe. On 129 it replaces 015 545 10 32 and 013 545 40 32 before
that.
0155451032 is obviously for the same cars as 0195457832.
On 210.263 the control unit part numbers have been: 024 545 85 32, 027 545
03 02, 030 545 20 32 and lastly 030 545 2332.
An interesting project you have.

Thank you for this information.
My project is much more 'interesting' than what I expected it to be.
I suppose 722.609 transmission combined with 1:3,27 differential ratio
and M112 engine are the key elements with this project. The control unit
must be from a car with exactly this combination of engine, tranny and
differential ratio.
First I explored this from WIS and only found E280T from 97 bis 05.99 to
meet all the requirements but the russian EPC does tell a different
story. According to it there is same combination of transmission and
differential in some early E320 models too.

Are you still willing to find me an alternative part for 0265458332?

0265458332 seems to be only for 202 cars?
On a 202.026 this part has been replaced with 026 545 95 32.
026 545 83 32 on the other hand replaces 020 545 99 32 which replaces 020
545 93 32.

Really?
I have 0205459932 in my hands and it does not work well. It has been
taken from a car with different differential ratio but everything else
is the same with the car, it does not work with.
This might confirm my doubts abut that there are not big differences
with the hardware but the software in the box is important. I quess, any
of these boxes will work if it was flashed with the right firmware.
Some years ago the replacement box come from factory without firmware
and the mechanic replacing the part read first firmware out of the old
part with Star Diag and then flashed it back to the new part.
So, it might be useless to try to find out the right part. Any of them
can be good if only flashed with proper firmware.
Reg: Harri
Now this operation has gone further and there is an other question:
Is it possible to find transmission control unit (EGS) firmware from
Star Diag or anywhere with vehicle VIN code?
I assume WDB2020262F843078 leeds to a car having all components right
for my project and I suppose my car will drive fine with the same
firmware, what is found in that car.
