sprinter 311cdi restricted rpm

Hi just aquired a 311cdi sprinter but has limited power won’t go past
3500rpm

Not very mechanicaly minded can only asume there is a restricter
switch some where the van was stood for a year.

any sugestions would be greatly appreciated :)

i am good at tapping things with a hammer

Hi lee.

Coupla things to check. Some have an inhibitor switch on the clutch
pedal. Not likely but possible. Most probably boost valve on Offside
under air box. Best bet is to whip it into MB shop and get it plugged
into the magic box. If its been standing there could be a lot of
gremlins lurking on DAS!!! Best of luck.
