I had the same problem about a year ago and it went away. About every 10 - 15 times it doesn't start. Turns over, but no start. I'll come back 3 hours later and no problem. Very frustrating, because it is intermittent. Any ideas? Another separate issue. I replaced the purge valve because once in a while the car would stall, the dash lights would flicker and my radio would cut off. My machanic said the purge valve was definately faulty and the car would go below idle and cut out. But I still have those simptoms. So that , plus the stalling is making driving difficult. Thanks I would say you got fuel injector leaking. You need to go to dealer or a good MB mechanic and have it serviced... they wil replace the leaky injector. The mechanic you are using doesn't sound promising to me. I owned a '97 E320 and also had a delayed hot start problem. The motor always fired up instantly at cold (overnight cold) start. But, after being driven and standing for 20 to say 180 minutes it had a delayed start - but always started. The delay could be overcome by stepping on the accelerator just a bit to open the throttle for the problem was that the motor was "flooded" due to a leaking fuel injector. Opening the throttle improved the air / fuel ratio so it started quickly. I discovered the cause when I removed the spark plugs and found #6 was wet with fuel. I had the dealer replace only #6 fuel injector and the motor was like new. I hope this helps you solve your car's problem.  Signature© 2007 T.G.Lambach.
