I have a '79 mb 240d.

The driver seat is sagging, and needs to be worked on.

The passenger seat is quite firm and high.

Can I easily replace the driver seat with the passenger seat?

and how?

For some definition of "easily" - yes, they do swap. You "just" unbolt them.

You need to just swap the seat bottoms, NOT the whole seat.

You will not be able to click your seat belts!!  The buckles bolt onto the inside of the frame.
