I'd bet large sums of money, and possibly real estate that the door
panel being off has nothing to do with the ignition not turning.
Weirder things have happened with perfectly plausible explanations,
but I can't imagine what an explanation for that would be. If you mean
that the engine is not turning over-which I don't think you do-then it
is possible that you fried the battery while troublshooting the
window. But the fact that you say that you tried multiple keys means
to me that you actually mean that the ignition lock itself won't turn.

I see in your posting that you mention the steering wheel being
locked. I think it is possible that you have turned the wheel with the
car off and gotten it past the lock. Now the locking mechanism for the
steering wheel is pressing on the ignition lock. Try rotating the
wheel one way then the other while trying to turn the key. You might
have to put a good bit of force on the wheel to get it to turn enough
to take the pressure off the lock to allow it to let the ignition
turn. If that doesn't do it, there may be something awry in that mess
of ignition and steering locks, or the ignition lock itself.
