I own a 1982 300TD. I locked my trunk the other day with my key. I
then tried to unlock it today with my key, but the lock will not turn.
Does anyone have any suggestions why my lock will not turn with the
key. I don't think its a vacuum issue because the vacuum for the trunk
has been disabled for years. Can anyone help me?

                                              God bless,

Blow some graphite into the hole. Even some dust from a graphite pencil
will do.

Don't do this.  Mercedes locks are lubricated with grease and when you add
graphite to sticky grease you end up worse than when you started.

Try flushing out the crud with WD40 or carb cleaner.  A trip to your local
locksmith might be in order also if that doesn't work.

If you are not part of the solution, you are not dissolved in the solvent.

And make sure you are not using your valet key...
