Do the new S Klass Kars seem to be better than the previous
generation? The wheel wells are ugly, but how do the kars hold up? Are
they still using plastic parts in the radiator and cooling system like
the ones that used to brake for me? Do the little things like motor
mounts and steering shock absorbers hold up better? How about the
electronics? And how hard is it to get used to the computerized
driving thingy? Just wondering - it may be worth it to go to another
town and buy one and then take it to ole seaky sam for service. Are
the waranties being honored?

Sounds like McBrue's having Mercedes remorse after buying a Lexus.

Hate to think of leaving Lexus - the brand that does not support its
warranty and is engineered for show, not go. The Lexus does not leave
you stranded on the side of the road the way the Mercedes does. But I
only lost about a couple of weeks a year to car repair with the
Mercedes, so if I buy a small Neon for the trunk ... Thus the
questions about the S Klass Kars.

ANSWER IS IN !!!!! Went down to the library over the weekend - er -
Barnes & Noble - and the Consumer Reports magazine compared
luxury vehicles. They rated the LS470L as the best buy, the one to
get. Of course the reliability of the two was radicaly different -
from half red for the Kudzu car to half black for the Kraut Kar. Black
or half black is bad. So ole Heavy Karl is still expecting to get rich
from the daily or weekly visits to his stealership from all the proud
new S Klass kar owners ! DRAT !!!!!! When will they learn how to
produce a reliable car? The magazine did point out there is not much
excitement in the LS. Too bad they missed the point that the Jap car
is just a cheap copy of the Kraut car but lacks the engineering that
makes the Kraut car work. Oh well ... S Class not ready for prime time
yet, I guess.

Take the jump and get the twin turbo S class. Who give a damn if the
car needs a bit of service? It would be a fair trade for the
performance fun factor.
