normally, my engine idels really loud, and hurts small dogs ears. I put some diesel fuel injection cleaner into my 300d t-diesel and its ideling allot quieter. is this a sign of a problem or does this sound normal? i have noticed a decrease in start time and an increase in miles per gallon (running around 36 i believe). thanks regards buy and sell car guideline http://www.zone-car.com First of all... if you have a 5 cylinder engine... when is the last time you had the valve adjusted? They are required yearly. Diesel fuel injection cleaner will boost fuel mileage regardless of brand until you run out. Diesel fuel tank has another issue... Algae... when is the last time you added Startron to your fuel tank? Algae will clog up the screen filter in the tank... thereby starving your engine of fuel and make it run louder. Diesel cleaner will somewhat clear up the screen but Algae will continue to grow... Startron will kill it and eat it.
