Does anyone know how to stop all these "SPAM" post which are starting to get
in the way and take up a lot of bandwidth.  If you will notice, this person
uses a different FROM address and a different SUBJECT for each post making
it difficult to block them.

I find that automatically deleting all postings to more than 3 newsgroups
kills all of the spam. My news reader has that facility built in, but I
don't know how you could do it in Outlook with using something like
NewsProxy and defining rules in that.

I wonder if google could do anything about it. All of the posts have
persecution M-I5 in them. I think the person needs mental help. I read
one of their posts once, and I kind of feel sorry for them, but
definitely don't feel like reading their stuff. They seem to be the
epitome of paranoid.

Have a good day,

As I said, I don't see any of these postings, unless some stupid sod
re-posts the whole message with a one line comment attached, so don't know
where the initiate from. In the 17 newsgroups that I subscribe to, there
are currently 12 threads (including this one) on this problem, so a Goggle
Groups search on SPAM, filtering, censorship should find some of the
solutions suggested so far.

Certainly if it's being posted by a Google user, then complain to Google
(groups-abuse@google.com) and then might withdraw the persons ability to
post after a week or so. If you are viewing this using Google (rather than
a newsgroup reading program like Agent, Thunderbird or even Outlook
Express) then there's not a hope that Google will remove these postings as
that would be censorship.

Have a good day

The poster made it hard to have it automatically deleted... his email and
subject lines are all different every time. I am still trying to figure out
a way in outlook express.

Persecution will be a self fulfilling prophesy if I ever get a hold of his
real identity :)

I use a filter in Thunderbird as follows:
  1) a combination of M, I, and 5, and mark the message as "Read"
  2) a word that starts with an M, and ends with a 5, and mark the
message as "Read"

Indeed, the subject is cleverly "mangled" with spaces, commas, periods
and other characters to make filtering difficult.

This works as a single filter in Thunderbird for all newsgroups.  I
don't use MS Outlook Express.  Perhaps other newsgroup members can test
this filtering method?

I have seen other groups much more infected than this one.
Poor devil.
