Hi friends, I wonder if anyone can help me. I have a CLK 200 and keep
getting the engine management light on with the computer reading "Open
Circuit P0130 Oxygen Sensor Upstream" I have changed the Oxygen sensor
and even the Air mass sensor and it still comes back after a day or 2.
I have niticed that it comes on when going around a bend and once when
I went over a bump. I have sat in the car on a ramp while my mechanic
shakes and moves wires and it doesn't happen then, a coupel of days
later, it comes back on. It's cost me a fortune and is driving me mad,
does anyone have any ideas ? Many thanks. Steve

In addition to checking wires, did he move/wiggle all of the vacuum tubes
for the EGR and tubing for induction system while the engine was running?  A
vaccum leak in the system could produce this problem too.

Wow, thats a great idea, I'll mention it to him tomorrow. It's all a bit
beyond me to be honest, I don't know what the EGR is but he will and I
really appreciate your idea.
Many thanks, Steve.

Hi Again, my garage are moving premises and cannot have a look to try see if
your tip works until later this week. Just thought I would let you know.
Cheers Steve

Well we tried wiggling the tubes as you suggested and nothing happened after
resetting the sensor. Two days later, the light came back on, I'm pulling my
hair out trying to work out what it can be. Thanks for the suggestion
anyway. Anyone has any other ideas ? Many thanks. Steve

Well I tried all the options suggested and still have the same problem after
about 5 days this time.

Thanks for your help again, it's driving me mad.

Steve,

ECU is pointing a open circuit in wiring from the O2 sensor to the
ECU, so, contacts at the O2 sensor or ECU/O2 pin are dirty/oxydized,
or an interrupt or short circuit in these wires. My bet is to have
this problem  checked at your near Bosch specialist or Mercedes to get
this annoying situation solved.

Best regards,

Mobi
