I thought it uses LEDs not light bulbs. Can I just replace light bulbs
or I need to replace whole climate control piece?

Have the same problem. I remember someone posting info on a home made
tool that allows removal of the climate control unit? Any pointers?

The tool is the same as the Stereo removal tool. $12, last time I bought
them at the Stealership.
In a pinch, you can use nail files.
