What is the possible cause on this, background light is not working when
head lights are on?

The AC / hot air is working fine, is it fuse got burned?

Thanks

After 10 years/120,000km the bulbs need replacement. Driven at a mean of
50km/h half the time in darkness that makes a life span of 1000 hours
roughly.

I thought it uses LEDs not light bulbs. Can I just replace light bulbs
or I need to replace whole climate control piece?

Thanks

Have the same problem. I remember someone posting info on a home made
tool that allows removal of the climate control unit? Any pointers?

Thanks,

The tool is the same as the Stereo removal tool. $12, last time I bought
them at the Stealership.

In a pinch, you can use nail files.
