I recently Purchased a 1990 Mercedes 190E and their is a tape jammed in the
cassette player, beacause of this i cannot use the radio so i was wondering
if anyone knew how to fix it or knew where i could get a replacement. Also
when i pop the hood from the inside of the car and i go to lift it up I
can;t because their is a latch that is supposed to stick out of the grill
that you pull out to release the lock mechanism but the latch to release
it broke off before i bought it. So i was wondering if anyone knew where
to get a new one of those.

Thankyou very much,

Buy a new radio... Bekker radio is not worth keeping or repairing.

The dealer should have the latch for you there.

Ok, but about the latch, i bought this car from a family friend not a
dealer, so i dont know if the dealer would have one and this car is from
1990. Do you think maybe if i went to the dealer they would like order me
a new one or something

Thankyou very much

Yes, they might have it in stock.

I suggest you to get a pioneer CD player with MP3. Pioneer's panel matches
the merc's red wood panel and it cost around NZ$400 (150 pounds) only. The
professional Auto Hi Fi installer only need half an hour to complete the
job.
