has anyone ever known the pistons in the diesel engines to be
damaged or worn,do they tend to last a long time

change the oil every 3 to 5 K & unless you pull the head and beat them
with a hammer they will last la long long time.

the case, minus a few cans!

Pistons last a very long time but can be badly damaged if a valve breaks
off and is smashed about inside the cylinder. Rare, but known to happen.
