Exterior light warning lamp - C230

The exterior lamp warning light on my '97 C230 is on all the time. The
owners manual seems to indicate that a brake light failure is the only one
that would keep the warning light on all the time. Both brake lights and the
center hi mount seem to be working.  Could this be a sensor problem of some
sort?

Check your rear lamps, your reversing lamps, your fog lamps, all your lamps
