fitting Parking Sensors

There are plenty of parking sensor kits available on eBay.
Has anyone tried  fitting a set to their car ?.
I have a 1998 E280 (auto) saloon.
A cursory look around the rear bumper and it looks a bit like trying to
enter to Fort Knox.
Any installation pro's or cons comments welcome.

It is ultrasonic distance detector. It may not work when there is bad
weather.
