Went to the owners manual that came with the car ('83 300D turbo) - it
says the engine type is 617.952.  Is that the number you needed?

Are you sure it is a 123.133 ?  WIS shows a 124.133 for a 300DT. Two
transmissions were offered 722.317 or a 722.357. The engine series numbers
are 603.962 and 603.960
There is a 123.133 listed with no data as a specialty vehicle but referenced
to a 300DT. It seems that the only sure way of getting to the correct info
is with the Vehicle ID Number. If you want to provide that I will give it
another try.

I'd sure appreciate it - maybe I goofed up the translation of the chassis
number.  The title lists the VIN# as WDBAB33A7DB024731.

The WIS [workshop information system] starts AFTER the 123 bodies were made.
WIS is great for new cars but does NOT and never did replace the old microfiche system.
It took the place of microfiche for NEW cars.

Yes, a 300DT is for sure a 123.133. 100% a 300DT. In the US, it was offered from 1982 to 1985. All
have the 722.3 transmission except the 1985 Calif model, it had the smaller 722.4.
Great cars!!

Your 300DT is a 1983. It was built on 12/29/82. It was sold on 1/19/83 by Ed Hicks Imports
in Corpus Christi, Texas. It is Champagne metallic with Cream MB tex interior. It has engine #
61795212043147 and trans # 722.315 0309486.
I can tell you more, if you want......

Wow! That is great info. Did you get this from the factory? I know I had to
give my local MB dealer the VIN # and show my registration and photo ID to
get a new ignition key...and it fit!

From the VMI [vehicle master inquiry].  All I need is the VIN.......  [it helps to work at a
dealership:)]

If it is a 82 to 84 or 85 Fed car, it will have the 722.3 trans.

Very easy to find it on the tranny... just above the tranny oil pan on the
passenger side... you may have a piece of metal clip hiding it... it is on
the tranny housing just above the oil pan.
