well it works once again.
the problem is the front part of the glass starts going up first though
not enough to really see but if you gab the glass while it is going up
and pull it forward it goes up with out a hitch <till it takes your
fingers off.

how does one adjust the track so both front & rear of the glass start at
the same time?

the case, minus a few cans!

It is most likely that your window regulator is broken... the white slider
thing... you can get a new one from MB dealer for $10... pretty easy to
replace... take entire window motor out... drill out old one... put new one
(but you have to use a big short bolt as a spacer so you don't break the
plastic while peening the rivet over to attach it to window motor.

Have you took out and apart your switch to clean all 6 contacts inside the
switch? It is a very common thing to oxidize so that it is choking power to
the motor.

once i pried it down a bit it has been working fine speed wise in the up
& down mode. till it gets 2/3s the way UP. it then bogs down and will
then trip the over load so you then have to go down a bit in order to
have it go back up.

i can live with it the way it is as it is no classic.

if i get a day to play i will take on the task of the gutting its
innerds

Have you replaced the window regulator or done anything else where the glass
might have come off its track? Cause when I was putting in a new window
regulator, I wasn't careful and the glass came off the track on one side and
it was doing exactly what you said.
