SLK HARDTOP ISSUE ( not moving)

98 slk 230 the top appears to be "stuck" on the drivers side and it
appears to try to go up in the back and on the passenger side. It
worked today as top was down all day, I than put the top up and went
to a meeting. When i returned I noticed it was or looks to be stuck on
the driver side. Again it does move in the back and on the passenegr
side.

I am thinking maybe a wire or fuse as i don’t think each side has a
seperate motor? This is the first issue I have ever had with the top
and I am selling this car and buying the new slk 350 next month so
trying to not spend a bunch of money I wont recover.

Thanks

The SLK roof is all hydraulic. Could be a catch out of adjustment or a
faulty hydraulic ram/valve. I'd put up with it until you get your new one. I
take it the A/C works ok?

thanks, a/c works fine. i actually may keep this as a second car and
knowing it does not work make’s me crazy so i will fix it after my
cruise. hoping it’s nothing major cost wise as if i don’t keep it and
have to invest money I will never see I am better off not buying the
new one and keeping this another year. it’s in excellent shape.
