I was wondering if it was fake.
It seems kind of blurry.

I had a look on Juergen's website (MBSPY), but there is no mention of a
Maybach cabrio.

Here is a 4-door job

The best 'real' ref I found was a rumour of a cabrio (scroll down):

An aside:

VW hard-top convertible.  Actually Karmann developed a CLK-sized 4-seater
years ago and offered it to various other car manufacturers.  No takers.
And they decided not to go into their pwn production for startegic reasons.

There are various manufacturers which make a business by building
convertibles or other body modifications from existing cars. It is
essential for them to achieve cooperations with the car
manufacturers, because this enables them to sell their cars over the
dealers network with full service support and factory warranty.
Besides this the convertible makers get half assembled cars from the
manufacturer - otherwise a CLK convertible (made by Karmann) would
cost about four times as much as a C-class made by Mercedes.

Those special assemblers frequently develop prototypes and dream cars
in order to demonstrate technical innovations, to retrieve customer
opinions and to impress car manufacturers;-)

Companies which come into my mind are: Karmann (CLK convertible,
Renault Convertible and many others), Webasto (developed the SLK
foldable metal roof), Heuliez (Peugeot 206 CC, Peugeot 307 CC, Opel
Tigra TwinTop) and Bertone (various Fiat and Opel convertibles).

To clarify, Karmann developed a 4-seater HARD-top convertible.

Click prototypes 1991 - 2000 and see the bottom one, Karmann-Coupe

You surprised me with your comment about the SLK being developed by Webasto,
as I thought it was also Karmann, which made me look at the website:
http://www.karmann.com/__C1256DF700512B86.nsf/html/en_a6ae900191216561c1256dc500

Click 1990 to 2000...

The Webasto website does not show the SLK, though it may not give a full
list of roof systems being delivered:
http://www.webasto.com/products/en/3119_3326.html

I also must -- apparently -- disagree with you about the degree of
construction by Karmann in the CLK case, which is fully assembled by
Karmann.  The fact that you can do a 'factory collection' from Bremen of a
CLK is just good PR.  Well, to be precise, you MIGHT get a Bremen-assembled
car now, too, because some production was moved there from Osnabrueck
because Bremen was running at under capacity (I think this started with the
new CLK).

Awaiting your comments..;-)

Oops. I thought the SLK was made in Bremen. Actually Websto developed
the multipart sliding roof for the A-class, as well as the sliding
roof for the Porsche Targa. Most current BMW convertible roofs seem
to come from Edscha (www.edscha.de). In the 80's and 90's Porsche had
a cooperation with ASC for the 944 cabrio. Actually I do not know who
makes the convertible roofs for the contemporary 993 models, but I
doubt that Porsche himself does the job..

I did not know that Karmann also assembled a part of the CLK coupé.
Anyway, I hope they did a better job with your CLK than they did with
my Renault 19 cabrio, which was a POS;-)

Karmann was also involved in the A-Class convertible - prototype
development:

Click prototypes 1991 - 2000.

I am pretty satisfied with my CLK Cab (W208).

The engineering is provided by the client.

Typically Karmann produces about 100 000 cars a year, not a small number.
Of course this can fluctuate dramatically as they gain or lose clients.
