Does anyone know what the metal pipe that runs parallel to the cylinder
head directly under the exhaust manifold is?....Mine is leaking and it
is pissing me off...need to source the part for I.D.
It has 6 ports off it that go into the head...I think it is some sort
of emissions ...pipe eventually leads to the air pump [I think}

My vehicle is a 1982 280ce ...nice car.......good shape too......260000

Perhaps you mean the exhaust hot air supply of the cold start idling gas
system? Take a strong lamp and a mirror and have a look.

Yes....I think you are right........I have since been told to
disconnect the air pump and plug ports of the head with wheel
studs.....no emmissions testing here in Tasmania Australia

However, If I just disconnect [ drive belt] the airpump...wont my
problem go away.....or will exhaust gases still leak?

Also...My air pump looks to be incorporated with the power steering
pump....So If I disconnect the air pump wouldn't that effect the power
steering hydrolics?
