How do you get to the top nut of the rear shocks on a 280ce?

Do you remove rear seat?.......and if so ..How?

Most Mercedes requires you to remove back seat to get to the rear shock top
mounts. Start with seat bottom... popping those out and then screws that
holds the rear backrest... slip it upward a tad and then pull forward to
remove.

Lift lower seat on the front. The back side of the seat is fixed with
screw nuts.
