ahoy:

i'm looking for a W126 and have seen three with similar front bumper
corrosion (holes on top where it is chromed).  is it a big job to replace
this bumper with a better one from another W126?  is the rear the same?  is
that problem generally more than cosmetic?  i'm also seeing a lot of bad
wood, but i figured that's not too difficult to replace.   was also
wondering about how easy/difficult it is to replace the shifter indicator
(the piece around the shifter with white P,R,D, ...).

thanks,
POE

Chrome pieces are easily replaced without changing the whole bumpers... the
question is whether you can buy them reasonbly priced.

If you can find good clean chromr that's the hard part. Replacing
them is a no brainer.

The wood is indeed not too bad to replace. 560's had burl, might want to
hold out for that. All other cars got Zebrano.
