i've found this photo, but it isn't very clear to me, i'm wondering if
exists somthing more clear:

The manual also has some photos.

Seems like different models have quite a different approach. The R-model had
an up/down button on each side of the steering wheel while the S class
(W221) seems to have an up-shift button on one side and a down-shift button
on the other.

thanks a lot, italian site doesn't has this owner's manual
