My parents' neighbour bought a 2007 S500 (don't know why they're not
called S550 as in USA). He spent several hours over a few days sitting
in the car, reading the owner's handbook, learning the electronic
features, configuring the settings, and so forth. It took about a week
before he found the optimal setting out of millions of possible
configurations. To be fair, the new owner was not technically inclined
as my father and I so it took him longer to make sense of those features.

My father did that in an hour for his 2001 E280 as everything was less
complicated and more intuitive as the E280 is his fourth Mercedes (1977
450SEL (awaiting restoration), 1993 260E (stolen in Poland), 1994 E280
(sold for 2001because he got a better offer on 2001), then 2001 E280).

We chuckled when seeing the owner's handbook which shamed lot of heavy
and thick medical reference books. Even though they were well written
and arranged, one cannot just skimp through and read whatever he needs to.

By the way, it was nice ride in S500.
