The winsheild wipers on my 82 240 have begun to sweep to the passenger side
too much. Where does one access the linkage and adjust this?

Never seen one on any car where there is an adjustment on the wiper
transmission as to the sweep area.  You can adjust where the blade
starts, ends and parks all at the same time by removing the wiper arm
and then just reseating it.  The arm socket has teeth that are a few
degrees apart.  But normally this is only necessary if the arm has been
removed and not reseated where it belongs.

If that doesn't do it, then it;s probably either live with it or
install a new transmission.

Ditto... at the wiper arm. One nut to release the arm... and you sometime
need a puller to get it out... DO NOT USE WINDSHIELD AS BRACE... or you will
crack it.

Another thing to look at is the the bushings in the transmission... they are
worn and shot by now... if you can replace all of them... it would work like
new.
