Okay, I just bought this 1986 190e because it belonged to Rockafella. I had
planned on restoring it to original but have been challanged to keep it
running. Previously I had mentioned the car dies after 15 min. Well it
also dies as soon as you put it in Drive before the 15 minutes as well.
The car used to idle back and forth from 5k rpm to 10k rpm when you first
started it, and sometimes died during that process.
Also after it dies I have to wait a few minutes before starting it again
or it will not start.
I changed out the Idle Air Control Valve,
I changed out the tem. sensor
I changed the plugs wires and dist. cap
I changed the fuel filter
I changed the air filter
I changed the battery
I changed the sterio just in case J/J
Anyway, today I noticed the electric fuel pump (Next to Fuel Filter) gets
really quiet before the car dies.
What are the possibilities that is what was wrong the entire time.

Did you change the fuel pump relay?

It looks a fuel problem to me.
I had a case were a very small hole in the mechanical fuel pump was
plug with the dirt and the car would stop because the membrane on the
fuel pump wasn't moving.
A mechanical fuel pump , pumps gas on one side of the membrane and air
on the other side , if the air is partially blocked it only runs for
a limited time.
Your car, being of a certain age, (not old) may have a mechanical
pump.
I use to troubleshoot electrical problems by clipping a wire on the
antenna and run the end of the wire into the engine compartment.
Of course the radio must be on.
