Hi there,
I have seen a number of accounts on various forums (fora if you did
Latin at school) about where to insert the hooks to remove the
instrument cluster and they are all different and none of them work on
my 93 sl 320. Before I pull the whole front end of the car into my lap,
I would really love it if someone could tell me where exactly to insert
the hooks (humour is great, but not now) on my dash to get my
instrument cluster out.
Many thanks,
Ellis

Get a strong flashlight and look hard. There's a slight notch in the
sides where you're supposed to insert the hooks. It's pretty hard to find
unless you know where it is. Strong light helps. You can always push it
out from behind instead...

Remove the dash cover in the foot room and press it from backwards.
Means to hang head down feet up for some time. Its easier then to remove
all cables and oil pressure hose in advance. Close the oil hose and the
corresponding hole of the instrument and dont turn the engine while it
is removed.

Thanks guys,
I'll do some handstands and go from behind, sounds safer and maybe more
fun.
