Could any one please give me detailed instructions on how to reset the
Maintenance Service indicator?

If it is showing a fault you should get to the dealership

It's not a fault problem. I just want to change the oil and filter
myself rather than go through the hassle of driving 65 miles to a
mercedes dealer and spending another couple of hours waiting.

Just want to bring the maintenance schedule service indicator up to
date.

Reset service (newer models)

-ignition switch on poition »2«
-at multifunktion steering wheel with button 3 or 4 to miles/km.
-button 1 or 2 to service menu.
-press reset button at instrument cluster 2 sec
confirm demand for reset with R-buttom at the instrument
-press R - button at instrument again and hold until signal
-ignition off

Service stations can reset the reset in case of a case.
