Trunk not opening '99 CLK

Trunk does not open - either with key fob or inside switch.

Ideas?

What happens when you push the trunk button (the one on the trunk where your
key can go in)? Is the key slot in vertical position?

Tiger ---

The button goes in with absolutely no resistance ---

And when I pull up on the console switch --- the light on the switch
doesn't go on.

Check fuse... if still not working, then you probably have to go to the
dealer.
