thermostat change

can any one tell me how to change the thermostat in 400se 1992, is it

 It is simple very likely.  Don't know exactly re your model, but typically
the thermostat is underneath a plastic cover that receives a large ( 2" or so)
hose from the radiator. the hose is on top and maybe about a foot long. There
will likely be 3  bolts hoding this plastic cap on.  Simply undo and 'yank'
up on the thermostat that you've uncovered.... it can be in there pretty
firm .... so you may need to pull hard.  The thermostat is therefore just
above the waterpump

Nope, not on a 119 engine.  The thermostat on a 119 sucks to get to. It is on the right side of the
engine, down on the side of the water pump, under the cover for the lower hose.
#18 is the thermostat. It is under #20. #32 is 1/2 of the lower hose:
