good day all. have all ready posted this question but now have more info.
mini cooper 1300i 1993 failing on highh emissions. having spoken to a
mechanic who has changed all vacuum pipes inlet manifold gaskets etc, he now
beleives that it could be the ecu unit. the car would pass an emissions test
from a cold start but as soon as the engine warms up the emissions go to
4.86% co level at 2713 rpm. Have not been on road for a month now, so any
ideas would be greatly received.

Could also be worn or damaged valve stem oil seals,
These would allow more oil in to the cylinder when the oil is hot , this
would add to the emissions and give high readings,
try blocking or clamping the engine breather pipes purely for the duration
of the emissions test, this stops the crankcase pressure from adding to the
emissions,
this sometimes works on various other cars,
