Removing Servo

Hi,

I'm currently building an ABS Freesytle kit car, the Donor car of
which is one of my rusty Minis.

It needs the brake master cylinder and the plunger bit that attaches
to the brake pedal but there isn't room for the servo. Can anyone tell
me if I can just remove the servo and be left with the non-servo bits,
or are the two systems totally different? Basically, I need to know,
if I remove the servo, will I be left with the same bits as I would
have if I had a non servo car?

Cheers,
Dave

Did your donor car have a direct-acting or a remote servo?

As far as I know, the brake pedal on a car with a direct-acting servo is
different from that on a non-servo or a remote-servo car.  (But I'm sure
someone will tell me if I'm wrong!).

Also of course you need to know if you need to use a cable or hydraulic
clutch.

(No problem with my Domino, as the bulkhead is straight old-type Mini)

Think it's direct-acting. When you press the brake pedal it pushes a
plunger up which goes into the servo, the master cylinder is the Type
4 type that lies horizontally and is bolted to the servo. I guess I
will just take it apart and see how it works. I have a non-servo
master cylinder in another Mini if I need it but if I can save
removing parts from that one too I would prefer it.

The clutch is hydraulic and uses the Mini clutch master cylinder which
sits n the passenger footwell, just needs a modified pedal.

Thanks for your help anyway.
Dave
