Car Forum / MINI / August 2004Unleaded fuel
Hi - what's the recieved wisdom about the best way to run Minis on unleaded fuel? Mine has just got running again after a number of years and I can't quite remember how we had it set up - I think we were using 96 unleaded with slightly hotter plugs than stock. Probably best to buy an unleaded head, there are loads of them about and it wont cost a fortune. Shell Optimax or BP equivalent used with a lead additive. If you can't get the high octane petrol use an aditive with an octane booster.
