Hi, I was wondering if anyone could offer any help on two mini areas one
being tyres:
I'm about to replace two tyres on my mini 1.3i with factory rover alloys,
I've currently got continental 145 / 70's and Toyo's on the back. Can any
recommend an affordable tyre that is durable and also performs well on the
mini for day to day running? I was going to replace with Continentals but
thought I would check if anyone can recommend a better tyre.
Second query is that I'm currently fire fighting rust on my mini before
replacing panels which arent quite ready to replace just yet. As a stopgap
to slow the rot!, Can anyone recommend a good primer, undercoat and can
finish spray for a reasonable end result. I was using davids primer last
time and a standard grey primer with a Hycote topcoat of pearlescent Tahiti
Blue. Can any suggest other products around with a superior edge given that
the job isn't expected to be a perfect match to the original finish.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions
Cheers
Andy

Put kurust (is that how they spell it? The white stuff in a little square
plastic bottle, turns black when it dries.) on any bits of metal that you
can't rub back to a shiny surface. Then use zinc based primer, really does
make a difference. Don't think the brand is that important.

I've used it before, and it seemed to have work quite well.

Got covered in Hammerite recently. A brisk session with a kitchen
scouring cloth got it off rapido. :-)
