Car Forum / MINI / August 2004Clutch noise.
HI!! Just had my engine rebuilt and everything is fine apart from a strange noise that appears to be coming from the clutch side of the engine. The noise is cyclic and its frequency increases with engine revs. The clutch is also new. Any ideas on what it might be? No changes when pressing teh clutch relasing it, in gear or neutral. It seems to diminish after a long run, by long i mean more than 45 min driving. It almost sounds like the flywheel or something scraping against a surface while rotating, like a high spot on a drum. They're definately not experts - what an awful job! I guess take the clutch over off - as per the changing instructions in the haynes - and see if something looks like it sounds. Any one of those mistakes I could just about tolerate from a Mini specialist with a new apprentice. Noises inside the clutch housing are not minor, trivial or going to go away by themselves. bit harsh splam dont make him feel even worse ffs he needs some support. how would you like it if we did it to you and your mini. fragged > HI!! > [quoted text clipped - 5 lines] > > Cheers! |
