Find a Mini down a quiet street late at night, get some mates together,
some tools, an engine crane and a transit van...

On a more serious note: Try a scrap yard, that way you should be able to
try the engine before you buy it, and then mercilessly wrench it out if you
choose.

Alternatively, the Adtrader, Mini magazines and ebay are all worth a look.

Hope you get a good 'un!  Max

Try the Melbourne Trading Post:
<http://www.trading-post.com.au/>

A quick search reveals the following motors advertised this week:

Mini 1100cc Motor Runs well, complete with gearbox radiator etc, can
hear running. GC $350ono (03)85053140 (0411)819499 Huntingdale

Mini engine & gearbox, 1275A plus electronic ignition, suit rebuild,
$900 (03)97046409, (0405)546896 Narre Warren S

Of course if you happen to live in the 99.8% of the world that isn't a
convenient distance from Melbourne, Australia, then these probably
aren't very helpful, but since you haven't told us where you actually
are, I can't be more specific.

Motors, being rather heavy, tend not to be something you can buy on a
website and have posted out to you.
