Does anyone have the bits or knows someone who has the bits to do such a
conversion.

I assume what you mean to do is to fit a cross flow engine to a transverse
gearbox?

Why bother, a good 1380 tuned can produce more power than a standard 1600 GT
ford kent engine,

last one of these i saw the engine was welded to the mini gearbox.
