sweat and tears...

motto of the story....

Definately! Well worth the ?12 that it cost me. I've down to about half an
hour for two of us working together to fit the windscreen. Not that much
swearing either! :o)

I bought a tool from mini spares, a piece of bent wire on a handle. There
were no instructions with it and I don't think it realy helped much! I think
there are some tools around that include a wheel and a loop, these may help
but the mini spares tool isn't very clever. Or could it just be that I
didn't know how to use it?

The bent bit of wire in a diamond shape it the one to use. It's great for
getting the filler strip in without excesive swearing. Fit the rubber first,
then gloop washing up liquid in the gap where the filler strip will be
going. Next thread the filler strip into the tool, and put the first bit of
the filler into the rubber. Then put the tool into the gap and gradually
feed the filler strip in by wiggling the tool side to side stretching the
gap as you go.

(Gosh, that was an awful description! I don't blame you if you don't
understand it)

It's a knack, but after you've done a few, it gets a lot quicker.

I'm just about to follow these very instructions
I've got the screen and rubber in, just the filler strip to go now :s
I got a 'Professional screen installation kit' today. By "Professional"
they mean it comes with no instructions whatsoever, so, in my infinite
wisdom ( :s ) I asked round on IM and got these instructions ....

how the **(k do you fit a windscreen filler strip ! says:
well I got this 'professional' windscreen fitting kit today

can someone pass the asparagus says:

can someone pass the asparagus says:

step2 - sit back and admire your work
how the **(k do you fit a windscreen filler strip ! says:

Thought I better share that one before I totally loose my sense of humour :D
