I bought this short block years ago when I had my mini's but never used it
was wondering what there worth. I took them to Mr. Mini  when I got them
just to be sure they actually are from a 997 cooper and he said the head
numbers are from a 997  cooper.  The block has no casting number on it but
was also..  pissed off at my self  I had the tranny out of it and duel SU
carbs but sold them.  The shifter on the tranny came out by the gas pedal so
must have come out of a fairly old one..

wondering what the block and head would be worth the block has a new cam in
it also head looks fine they.   Both have been sitting up at my brothers for
the last 9 years blocks in the rebuild oil filled bag really nasty LOL

 Thanks J K

The 997 was a long-stroke block; won't rev as high as the 998, so not
really suited for competition, but okay for street. 997 should give
better performance than an 850, but better economy than a 1275. My
guess on value would be $250 to $500 without the transmission or carbs.
